Security System

I'm looking at a security system for our off grid home. They got back to me with the standby power consumption and it totals 260 milliamps. Does that sound reasonable? I can't always be there with my Kimber...LOL

    • 0.26 amps * 12 volts = 3.12 watts
    • 3.12 watts * 24 hours per day = 74.88 Watt*Hours per day
I assume that this has a mobile phone for call out? Have you measured the power or is this just the specifications?

Sounds reasonable for power usage (if all my assumptions are correct).

Thanks BB, not measured, just the specs in the proposal. I'm gonna have enough "legitimate" usage and I'm really trying to keep the stray transient stuff under control. And yes, it has a mobile to call out.
