Outback systems, one MATE3

The MATE 3 is one sweet unit. Here's what I have:
2 x VFX3048E
2 x FM80
2 x 500Ah/2VDC@48V battery banks

They are being used off-grid with the grid power only turned on when necessary.

Without the MATE3, each inverter, charge controller and battery bank act independently, with grid input that gets turned on manually when the battery gets to a certain voltage (home made relay based on batt voltage).

Now with the MATE3, do I need to combine the battery banks, output of the FM80 into a single battery bank fed by the 2 x FM80? I want to use HBX mode.

Or do I need to combine the loads into a single distribution box fed by the paralleled AC output of the inverter?

Or do I need to do both?

Thank you!

If the AC output is not "stacked" (either serial for 240 VAC or parallel for more Watts) and the DC banks aren't connected on both (-) and (+) you can use the MATE to program it as two individual systems.

You really need to read the manuals here. It will take days and you'll probably have to do it three times and then refer back as you push the buttons, but these Outback systems can do a lot of stuff if you know what buttons to push! It's just a bit daunting.
