I would be interested of learning about any green groups in the USA that support solar power abroad.

Sun Energy Poser International (www.sunepi.org/) had been doing a lot of solar power work in a variety of places around the world. However, their CEO, Walt Ratterman, was killed in the Hatian earthquake last year.

Solar Electric Light Fund (self.org) is doing work in a variety of places, including Haiti.

Partners in Health (www.pih.org) is using a lot of solar at their medical facilities, not so much to be green, but because in the long run, it offsets the cost of fuel for generators.

Healing Art Missions (www.healingartmissions.org) (much smaller than than Partners in Health) is using solar to supply power for its clinic east of Port au Prince. This system is described and discussed in the thread http://forum.solar-electric.com/showthread.php?t=9127

So, that's two organizations that are focusing on training and installing solar electric systems, and two that are using solar electric system.
