Hi guys!

Could someone show me a way of wiring 12 pieces of 12V AGM Batteries, so as to have a 24V battery bank?

Thanks!

What are the specs of your 12V AGM batteries? AH ratings? Manufacturer? Mixed or matched dates of manufacture?

With twelve batteries, you're looking at 2 banks of 6 batteries wired in parallel. Those two parallel banks would then be wired together in series to get your 24VDC. For that many parallel connections you would ideally want your batteries to be matched, with your cabling also as carefully matched. Another concern is that, the two parallel banks will be carrying only 12V, but ALL the Current of 6 batteries. To connect the two banks together to make 24V, the series cabling will have to be larger to handle it, and as short as possible.

Here is a good read that illustrates the importance of balancing batteries.

    OR

6 strings of two batteries wired in series for 24v, and then the 6 24v strings paralleled - which I think is probably how I'd do it.

I agree. The fewer parallel connections you have to make, the better.
