Determine what I need to run a system

Hello all,

I am running a communications tower that draws 8.0 Ah, I have 6, 160 Wp solar panels, 2 X 24-volt batteries (4 x 12V 200Ah batteries, deep cycle ) I am sure this is not enough to keep up with the charging of the batteries and running the system during a sunny day.

any advice would be appreciated.

Regards
Theodore.

    Load  8a @ 24v = 192wh x 24h = 4608wh  per day
    Soar   160w x .7 = 112w expected x 4 hours = 448wh x 6panels = 2688wh harvest on sunny day  (92ah @29v)
    battery 2400wh ea x 4 = 9600wh total, 4800wh usable (50% discharge)

Nope, I think you need 2x the solar panels split into E & West arrays to charge batteries slowly over 4 hours, not boil them in 2hours

In the end, I think going to 48V with more battery is needed, 1 cloudy day and you are dead

Just to clarify, you said "draws 8 Ah". Is that an 8a load drawn 24hrs/day, or 8ah total energy used in a day? The former (8a) is a rate of use, the latter (8ah) is total used (like mph vs distance travelled).

Assuming it should read "draws 8a", I'd agree with @mike95490 - more panel needed to charge and support load.
