Unusual messages appearing re Charge Controller

Our ProStar 20 Morning Star Solar Charge Controller keeps displaying HVD and is also flashing between green and red constantly where the battery indicators are shown.   Despite having a 2kva Honda generator charging the batteries, this flashing between green and red continues.  What is the HVD telling us and how do i get it to disappear when I need to switch over to solar input and why are the battery status lights flashing between green and red ?   Thank you.  Brian

    It sounds like High Voltage Disconnect--What is the battery voltage when this is happening?
