Programming the Outback MATE vs. the Outback MX80.

Programming the MATE always gave me the willies and I came to believe that I had lost any ability to interface with such apparatus. My efforts to return it to default values did not work and "acute solar despair" was breaching the door.

After a good sleep, I mustered the strength to try programming the MX80 instead. It simply could not be easier. Most intuitive thing imaginable. Takes about 15 seconds.

The FlexNet with MATE offers a lot of dancing LED lights and a SOC meter which generally struck me as witchcraft. Doubtful that I will ever attempt to program the MATE again. Though I do seem to recall that one can use the internet and see how the system is doing.
