    I believe the conditioning charge would normally only be done when there is an apparent loss of capacity. Is this the case for your bank? If I was doing this, I'd probably want to monitor the process…

    There probably isn't much more you can do. My guess is a manufacturing defect, so I'd return it - bought recently it's presumably under warranty.
