Re: Clamp meter indicates 4 of 18 panels are now defective after 4 1/2 years.
FWIW, I find I have to "zero" mine before every read to get repeatable reads. What stage is the bank at?. Mine would likely be floating at 1pm on a sunny day at this time of year, and absen…1 · -

Re: How many years before planning on replacing my Outback Flexpower?
You probably already know it will fail shortly after civil war breaks out due to gun confiscation etc., but you decided to stay. Just the way it goes >:) Realistically, I'd expect 10-15 yrs.1 · -
Re: Solar panel math assistance
My 48v nominal bank is at 87% SOC this morning, which would have a resting voltage of ~50v. Classics are charging in bulk at 51.5v. Yes, a bit higher than resting for that SOC so current flows to th…1 · -
Re: Solar panel math assistance
IMHO, controller capacity shouldn-t be calculated using absorb voltage (when current will be tapering anyway). Max current would likely be in bulk, so a lower voltage (eg 48v, roughly 50% SOC seems m…1 ·
