Re: Does this site survey justify pointing the array way away from south?
You might look at "virtual tracking"... 1/2 the array facing ~120 degrees, and the other half facing 210-220 degrees. Standard elevation (best year round) would be ~40 degrees from horizont…1 · -
Re: Super steep paneling in the frozen north?
Another option is "virtual" tracking... Face one set South East, and another South West, and you have "more actual hours" of solar harvest... Very nice for Lead Acid type batterie…1 · -
Re: Strange Battery Issue
The string that supplied all of the current to the load--Probably the good batteries. The ones that supplied little... You either have an open (or near open) cell in one (high voltage), or a shorted …1 · -
Re: inverter size vs battery
Around 1,200 to 1,800 Watts is about the maximum I would suggest for a 12 volt battery bank: * 1,800 Watts * 1/0.85 AC inverter eff * 1/10.5 volts battery cutoff = 202 Amps * 202 Amps * 1.25 NEC dera…1 · -
Re: Added another Solar Panel and Controller Says Watts Dropped
Ok... Just to be clear in how we use "72" cell panels... In solar panels, cells are put in series because--each cell is ~0.5 volts Vmp, and you need 36 of them in series to get Vmp~18 volts…1 ·
