Hi everyone,

I recently put up a 4kW DC microinverter PV system on my tiled roof. I wrote a book/website documenting everything.

Planning
Component Section
Permitting/Drawings
Bill of Materials with pricing
Code/Rules/Guidelines
Installation - Roofing
Installation - Wiring
Installation - Grounding
Pictures of every step

Plus a lot more! It's strictly free/non-commercial but it is not meant to be a How-To guide. Just purely for personal use. :)

It is highly based on NEC 2011 and any rules/guidelines specific to California.


I found this forum useful and am doing this to return something to the community.

    Welcome to the forum.

    We only forbid commercial sites (people trying to sell stuff/scams), not personal ones.

    Always interested in individuals' adventures in solar. :D

    looks good, the parts viewed.

    One observation, there are a lot of pics rotated 90* rather than vertical. Was this a program restriction, it seems to take away from a good activity log.

    I've been trying to find a way to thank you ever since I stumbled onto your site about 6 months ago. Thanks to your information, my plans have just been approved and I will begin installing the tile hooks this week. You have no idea how much your site helped me. Thanks for mentioning this web site and forum on your site, too, I just joined here about ten minutes ago, I wish I had found this site earlier, too.
