Xantrex 6048 charge question

Does anyone know why the yahoo widget for monitoring the inverter etc. differs greatly from the inverter itself in how much battery remains?

For example: this morning, the widget said there was 65 % remaing, but the inverter itself indicated it was more like 90% full?

A general question I have is what voltage is considered empty for a 48 volt system?

Thanks-

You can not determine lead-acid state of charge from battery voltage unless the battery has had no load for several hours. It must be at 'rested' equilibrium state. Any current draw from battery will invoke battery kinetics that changes battery voltage.

    State of Charge__Specific Gravity_______Voltage
    _________________________________12v_______48v
    100%____________1.265_________12.7______50.8
    75%_____________1.225_________12.4______49.6
    50%_____________1.190_________12.2______48.8
    25%_____________1.155_________12.0______48.0
    Discharged______1.120_________11.9______47.6

that "at rest" means no charge source either for several hours as well.

I have the same problem the voltage drops to 66% then 33% but there is stil 24,69 volts showing and a 20 amp draw

    Can anyone explain

Xantrex was too cheap to put in a current shunt, if they did that, they would have an accurate system. Instead they estimate SOC based on the loads. Epic fail IMHO.
