Small Power Purchase Agreements

Anyone know of any small power purchase agreement companies? I have a possible 100+kW ground mount. How about even smaller say 10k PPAs?

    Are you in California?

Generally, the state requires the utilities purchase RE power.

Your first bet would be to contact your local utility.

Beware though, small systems (like for homes) is pretty straight forward--1 year net metering--you purchase at retail, and you sell back at retail.

For larger installations and commercial sites--the power bill has two components... One is the kWhr rate, and the other is the "reservation charge". Roughly 1/2 of the bill is the kWhr costs, and the other 1/2 is the charge for the distribution network.

For commercial systems, you will get paid for the kWhrs you generate--but you will probably get billed for the reservation charges (based on the 15 minute peak power you consume or generate).

You should really talk with the source--there is probably only so much we can do here (giving you links for purchase agreements for local utilities).
