Inverter/Chargers

I've been looking at Inverter/Chargers lately, and it seems that little is said about the charger. Am I correct in assuming they're typically not state of the art MPPT chargers?

Inverter/chargers don't need MPPT, since their voltage comes from the "grid", at a steady 240 or 120V

What is important converting from AC to DC, is the POWER FACTOR of the charger section. A good power factor (perfect is 1.0) of .9 will be more efficient running from your generator, than a charger with a .6 PF, which will require a larger generator to drive it.
