Is there any good small 24 vdc to 240 ac 60 cycle inverters available? I found a manwell 700 watt and a 1000 watt 240 vac inverter available. That is the same brand as a member here got for a battery charger.. :Dsolarvic:D

What size do you want? There are some larger split phase 120/240 VAC 60 Hz units out there... Xantrex (4/6kW) and Magnum (4kW)

Otherwise, you take the 120 VAC and a 1:2 auto-transformer to setup the voltage.

Since many manufacturers make 230 VAC 50 Hz units--I wonder if they can do a 230 VAC 60 Hz semi-custom (Exeltech says they can do spec. changes--I think I ran into that buried in some spec. somewhere).

I would like to get a 24vdc inverter that makes 240 ac li and l2 ac. Even though I have a GTI system I am thinking of makeing an offgrid system for power outages. I had six power outages this winter. I already have an unused SW-4024 inverter and the solar panels, charge controlers and wire and a 240 Xantrex transformer. I also have 2 alpha Dc generators powered by natural gas. So all I need to get is mounting for the solar panels and a set of batterys. The reason I want the small 240 inverter is so I can connect it to my Geospring waterheater. It uses a small amount of voltage 24/7. I figured if I had the sw-4020 and the transformer connected that it would waste more power than the Geo spring uses. I wanted to dedicate some of the power from the offgrid system so I could let my Gti feed more power to the grid. I saw a meanwell inverter that comes set up at 230 50 cycle and can be set to 60 240 volt 60 cycle. They have a 700 watt and 1000 watt version. I think before I buy it I better find if it has the L 1 and L2 Setup. Just wandered if anyone heard of these or has any experience with them. They are 92% efficient and use only 6 watts in standby. If I didn,t already have the sw-4024 I probably would get the big magnum inverter. The more I think about it, maybe using the power for the Geospring WH might be a waste of power. I could use the power for something that only needs 120v like my refrigerator and satelite systems. I do have an exeltech 1100 watt inverter with the part installed that cuts the idle power use to 10 watts.
