I have a Trace Engineering Solar Charge Controller Model C30AT. Can I hook a 15 amp wind generator into this?

Thanks.

Sure, and you can hook a class III trailer to a class l hitch, with a hillbilly adapter. But you have to do it right. And you need extra widgets. Read the manual on how to configure the controller for DIVERSION LOAD. Then you connect a Diversion Load to the proper terminals, battery to battery terminals and finally the wind generator to the inputs. Does the wind generator have integral diodes? And you may want an OFF switch to shut down the turbine, But the C30 is rated 30A, and the turbine 15, so it should work.

I am not familiar with that controller. Is it a xantrex C30? I would highly recommend a tristar TS series diversion controller. The C series are very slow to react to voltage changes so with wind the voltage swings all over the place. I larger battery bank does help with regulation.
