Charging a battery with itself?

Is it possible to charge a battery bank with itself I have a charger that will run off my inverter the input is 120v 1amp and the output is 12v 20amp is it possible?

    yes ... but futile exercise . you will go backwards.

    No, it is not possible to create 240w in 12Vdc charging from 120w 120vac inverter power. One or both current measurements are wrong. Inverter, charger, and wire losses mean charging watts will always be less than inverter input wattage.
    Off-grid.
