Does anyone know of a fan that is certified for 250cfm at less than 10 amps?

    What is the usage? Computer ac and dc fans use much less power but do not move much air if there is any back pressure (such as blowing through an air filter).

    In almost all cases, efficiency goes up with size.  Ie, large, slow moving blades.

    10 amps... AC or DC?

    Do you have a size you would like? I think the 10"O2cool would be in that neighborhood, if it's true that the Endless Breeze is 900 cfm. It draws 7-8 amps at 12 volts... I've never seen a cfm on the 02cool, but keep hearing 900 cfm for the endless breeze. Might be worth looking into.


    I've been pretty happy with my O2cool fans, have 2 running now.
    Home system 4000 watt (Evergreen) array standing, with 2 Midnite Classic Lites,  Midnite E-panel, Magnum MS4024, Prosine 1800(now backup) and Exeltech 1100(former backup...lol), 660 ah 24v Forklift battery(now 10 years old). Off grid for 20 years (if I include 8 months on a bicycle).
    - Assorted other systems, pieces and to many panels in the closet to not do more projects.

    DoD= depth of discharge= amount removed from that battery   SoC= state of charge= amount remaining in that battery
    So, 0% DoD= 100% SoC, 25% DoD= 75% SoC, 50% DoD= 50% SoC, 75% DoD= 25% SoC, 100% DoD= 0% SoC
    A/C= air conditioning AC= alternating current (what comes from the outlets in your home) DC= direct current (what batteries & solar panels use)

    I just got a aims 4000 inverter however the fan is constantly running and will not shut off at all does anyone know why or how to stop it from running non stop appreciate any help at all.

    Cheap inverters leave a lot to be desired.

    2.1 Kw Suntech 175 mono, Classic 200, Trace SW 4024 ( 15 years old  but brand new out of sealed factory box Jan. 2015), Bogart Tri-metric,  460 Ah. 24 volt LiFePo4 battery bank. Plenty of Baja Sea of Cortez sunshine.

    Is there a load on it?  Is it for a 12 volt battery bank? Is it in a warm area?

    Inverters for a 12 volt battery bank work harder than ones for high voltage battery bank. Also, as Littleharbor2 said, cheap inverters cut corners, it will have to have a fan, but smaller cooling area and smaller cases can be done, if it runs the fan more often.

    What does the manual say regarding fan operation, some are load dependant, some by temperature, others run at low speed constantly switching to higher speed under a certain load and the really cheap ones run full speed all the time.
    Good not cheap, cheap not good.......as the saying goes.
    1500W, 6× Schutten 250W Poly panels , Schneider MPPT 60 150 CC, Schneider SW 2524 inverter, 400Ah LFP 24V nominal battery with Battery Bodyguard BMS 
    Second system 1890W  3 × 300W No name brand poly, 3×330 Sunsolar Poly panels, Morningstar TS 60 PWM controller, no name 2000W inverter 400Ah LFP 24V nominal battery with Daly BMS, used for water pumping and day time air conditioning.  
    5Kw Yanmar clone single cylinder air cooled diesel generator for rare emergency charging and welding.

    Full time fans would likely have a high, idle current draw. Not recommended to keep on continuously as it will drain your batteries.
