HI it appears that if your ISP uses a dynamic IP then you can;t connect with the tablet app, since it won't let you input a hostname/domain name instead of an IP address. Or am I doing something wrong?

Mine works too like that, but what happens when you leave home and try and run the app?

I use a dynamic ip server and associated program that sends your new IP to it every time yours is reset. I use Dyns have a paid account but there are others that are free. Have to set in the server name / password etc in your router with port forwarding 8080 to port 80 type numbers. Then from device iPad, cell phone PC you type in the name.dns:8080 from a browser and it should access it. Simplified version of what you can do. There have been other detailed post on setting up remote access. This way you can even view from any smart phone, tablet device.

Absolutely nothing, I have no internet connection at the power building. Can't test it.

This works for me on my phone and tablet, however when i try and use the APP in the tablet it physically wont let me input a host name instead of a number for ip and port., this is where I get into trouble..

I don't use the app for remote access use your internet browser IE, Chrome, FireFox etc.as example mine is "ComBox.dns.alias:8080" then you would log in as admin and your password.

You could probably set up a VPN, or virtual private network. That would be like being home while you are gone.

I haven't set up a VPN, but I would advise it's something best left to a friend that has done it before.

Still no resolve to the issue, no clue on the VPN setup...Schneider is working on a fix, but it could take time.
