After all the talk about Perovskite-based solar panels for at least two years I've read now that production is supposed to start next year. The advantages in terms of cost seem very attractive but it also seems the technology isn't really mature enough yet.

What do you think, will it have any significant (positive) effect on the solar business in the foreseeable future?

You probably don't want to spend a lot of money on them yet... Solar radiation (thermal and UV) and temperature cycling/sealing against moisture/oxygen/whatnot--I would let somebody else get some age on the panels and see how long they last in real life.

Just a general statement--Not based on Perovskite properties specifically (don't know anything about it).

Yeah, that's roughly what I'm thinking, too.

If anyone happens to know a bit more about this issue I'm grateful for any input!
