Here are afew pic's of the CNC machined wind turbine I have been working on this past spring. The prototype has worked so well, I made 4 more units!! The 4 newer units have been powder coated white and I used all 304 stainless steel fastners to hold them all together.
Tell me what you think of the design.

Here is a link to my photobucket page.

well, it looks pretty, but does it work? details, specs, etc.

We will be setting 1 of these units up this week sometime, I will keep you up dated with results. Here are afew more pretty pic's for you to look at for now.

That is some insanely nice machine work. Even if it never generates a single watt of output, that is definitely something to be proud off. I'm guessing that you have been machining for a while.

Blades look pretty much identical to the Hornet I had. It too was pretty to look at, but as for producing any usable power? That's a whole different story.

First quote: "The prototype has worked so well, I made 4 more units!!"
Then when asked: But does it work, details, specs etc, the following quote:
"We will be setting 1 of these units up this week sometime, I will keep you up dated with results."

Very interesting. It's listed as a 1000 watt turbine that works well, but hasn't yet been tested?

    • What is the diameter of the blades?
    • Where did you get the blade design from?
    • What material are the blades made of?
    • How does the Wind Trubine protect itself from over-revving in high-winds?
    • What wind speed is needed to generate the rated 1,000 Watts?
    • How did you meaure the 1,000 watts of power?
    • Did you read the Voltage and Amperage simultaneously?
    • What type of load (batts or load bank) was used to measure the 1,000 watt output?
    • What were the simultaneous Volt / Amp readings that computed to 1,000 watts?
    • What gauge wire did you use to wind the alternator?
    • Is this a 12 Volt, 24 Volt, 36 Volt, 48 Volt or other design?
    • Is this a 3-Phase AC design?
    • Are the rectifiers located inside the wind turbine or external?
    • Did you use slip-rings?

    Thank You,
