House Batteries

I stumbled upon this 2 year old article that peaked my interest. I live in rural Arizona and would love to have a cost effective battery that could run my house needs and be rechaged by the sun each day.

What happened to this effort? There are so many great ideas that get killed somehow.

That article was from 2009... No real news on that front from Cermatec that I can find.

We have a few threads here from several years ago about this announcement/company.

For the most part, until somebody is selling lots of something from stock--These R&D articles are probably not going to affect us in the near term.

    OK Thanks for that feedback

It sounded too good to be true. I have to wonder if any company has picked up on the technology and tried to advance it.

I'm still waiting for battery technology to improve over what we have to live with today. I don't find any of the current offerings very appealing.

Have yoou looked into grid tied solar? A popular misconception about solar is that you need batteries. In fact, batteries ( if the grid is available) only make the equation more expensive and less efficient.
