Can you just use the EVA Sheet encapsulant with the solar glass only and sandwich the cells between the one sheet of EVA and the glass?

    any solder bumps, tab wire or bugs that vary the thickness, will instantly pulverize the cells when the vacuum is applied.

    Hey Fabieville
    I tried exactly that using a heat gun to melt the EVA and sandwich the cells, using a vacuum pump to suck the cells to the glass. Looked great when I finished, but after several weeks in the sun the EVA separated from the glass. EVA doesn't adhere well enough to glass.

    The encapsulant that name sylgard 184 that you pour on the cells. Do you think that the container of approx. 500ml would be enough to cover (36) 6"X6" Cells?
