Sunwize panels blocking diodes

Getting ready to do an RV type install of solar using the Sunwize 100c panels.
I will not be doing a series application...
I noticed what appears to be 2 blocking diodes on each panel.

Are they necessary as my system will be 12vdc and using an Mppt controller?

Are you sure they are blocking diodes and not by-pass diodes?

Blocking diodes should not be needed on any less than "12 volt" arrays and may be helpful on 24 volt arrays (if directly connected to the battery bank without a solar charge controller in between).

    BB, thanks for the reply.

I'm new to this solar stuff but not electronics so I just assumed the diodes were blocking.....

I have a hunch that you are correct that they are bypass.

If they are bypass diodes, then you do want them... The prevent the cells from being damaged if some cells/panels are shaded and others are in full sun.

Thanks advise appreciated. I did read about what the by-pass diodes did but wasn't sure about these....
