Estimating New Solar Farm project

Looking for types of Solar panels (trackers or otherwise) to power a 500kw, 750kw or 1mw system on a farm.. Also the spacing required for all 3 farms. Is there an easy formula to determine spacing ?

Any suggestions for brand names of panels, inverters, or otherwise ?

    500kw - 1mw per hour, day, year?

The you drop 3 farms, is this per farm?

    Per year. Different size farms.

Looking for spacing between tracking equipment, good reliable brand names and formulas if available.

PV Watts has a Ground Coverage Ratio chart for various mounting types (1/2 way down the page).

Nice 2 know. When Grid-tying, does the power company provide their own inversion system ? And what are some typical good brand names on stationary PV's ?

Re: Estimating New Solar Farm project

Normally, the customer provides the solar array and grid tie inverter. And every thing up to the meter drop.

In many areas, under 10kW peak rated small systems bypass most "generator requirements for utilities. Over 10kW and you may hit a whole bunch of new requirements.

And, if this is a business with solar, the differences in billing / rate plans, can make business based solar economically unviable.

So much of solar depends on your state and utility rules, you need to check with a local installer or utility for details.

It sounds like you are looking at a 3-10kW system. is this to be a diy install or local installer?
