When do you think this relentless rise in battery prices will end?

when they figure out lead isn't worth its weight in gold.
more seriously it is, as i understand it, due to the upward spiral of metal costs and one thing that fuels any depression is the unchecked inflation, so during a depression costs will probably be even higher.

Expanding this thread a little do we have an expert who can expand on the recovery of lead from dead and sulphated batteries. We are encouraged to recycle them so somebody must be recovering them , how efficient is it and if so we should start getting a good trade in value on our old units ?

What funny is a local battery place here has been upping the prices a lot...

So I price some t16 and about have a cow...

he: the price of lead is going up like crazy!

I say well that's good I have 6 T 105 in the truck for recycling!

he says yea he'll pay $2 per battery, the same as he has for the last 6 years....

you know gas is much higher and the cost of transporting them is higher...

WT(heck)!!!!! (tone it down a notch though i understand your frustration. niel)

Thanks for those links Jim so very interesting

99% of new LA batts are recylable
84% of new LA batts contain previous recycled batt (Exide)

Wow with the way prices are going its time to get into the recyling bussiness
Exide batteries collect the old batteries when delivering the new ones
