Grid support voltage setting, auto/manual

This question is related to the XW6048 system.

I was told by Xantrex awhile back that if you have the latest firmware in the MPPC charge controller you can opt for the "advanced grid support" function by setting the grid support voltage to 60 volts or so to "get it out of the way".

I was told that in this mode the system will determine the sell voltage automatically [near the float voltage].

Is there any advantage setting an absolute sell voltage or having the system make the determination? My understanding is that the grid support voltage is not temp compensated. Will this require re-setting in the summer when the float voltage is lower.

Thanks,

Brent
