Cleaning Solar Panels

I've been hosing my panels off once a week to wash the dust and pollen off . Since I have a ground mount It would be easy to use a soft brush and a little soap . How often should I clean ? Also I only clean early in the morning while panels are cool .

I clean them when they look dirty.  Just a quick hose off.

I clean mine about 2 times a year, one time in the spring when the pollen is heavy and no rain and one time in the fall after the leaves fell off the trees.

I clean as needed, and right now the Pine Pollen is coming on heavy.... so once a week unless it rains...

I check the power they produce, if below expectations, I wash them.

Otherwise I also use distilled water, no brush.

I hose them off early AM, while still wet from overnight dew.

Solar panels are self cleaning, unless you’re panel is minimally tilted or very dry. Using your soft brush and hose will do!

Birds of prey are an issue sometimes up here. Those splats can be just in the right place!
