Panels of different size?

3 years ago I bought 12 Kyocera 235GX panels for my off grid cabin. It took way longer to get through County regulations than I anticipated, so I used 3 of the panels on my travel trailer for the last 3 yrs. now I'm ready to put the 12 panels on the roof of the cabin but I want to keep 3 panels on the trailer too. Can I buy 3 new 255 panels and use them as one of the four groups of 3 on my cabin roof or should I put the 255s on the trailer and make all the ones on the house the same (235)?

I would swap out the 3 on the RV and keep the old ones together, but the 3 new ones would likely work if the Vmp is close, but you would probably lose some of their out put as the lower ones will override the new ones.

The rule of thumb is that when putting different types of panels in parallel into a single MPPT input the Vmp values of they two sets of panes need to be within 5% of each other.
For a series connection of mismatched panels the Imp values need to be within 5%.

Thanks all. I picked up three Kyocera 255s that I will put on the trailer tomorrow, and then put all 12 of the 235s on the house.
