No affiliation, but it looks decent for the price/size and I'm wondering what you guys think about it.

    They have a pretty website.
    Spec'ed at 35MPH, I could not find a wind speed graph for any lower speeds. If you have 35MPH winds, your tree tops are bent/growing sideways.

    I'm kind of partial to this homebrew idea:

    Wind serpents. His idea is string several props and alternators on 1 shaft, and use 1 tower for it. (8mph cut-in wind speed)
    Powerfab top of pole PV mount | Listeroid 6/1 w/st5 gen head | XW6048 inverter/chgr | Iota 48V/15A charger | Morningstar 60A MPPT | 48V, 800A NiFe Battery (in series)| 15, Evergreen 205w "12V" PV array on pole | Midnight ePanel | Grundfos 10 SO5-9 with 3 wire Franklin Electric motor (1/2hp 240V 1ph ) on a timer for 3 hr noontime run - Runs off PV ||
    || Midnight Classic 200 | 10, Evergreen 200w in a 160VOC array ||

    Hmm, that's interesting. If you click on "12 volt battery environment" or "24 volt battery envoronment", it shows output at lower wind speeds.

    mike,
    now that really was interesting to see. as a side note i think they're nuts driving it down the street like that. lots of noise to go with that power and that 1st vid showed it really humming to the point it may have been undersized as far as the generator goes.(i also saw the tower stressing a bit) there may be power foldback issues with high wind speeds and i can imagine the stress levels on that system leading to premature failures. it also didn't seem to turn readily for wind directional changes and that could snap it in 2 with a sudden strong gust from another direction. imho, i think more than 2 sets of blades is far too dangerous with 2 sets being somewhat shakey too.

    Got it ! thanks

    Yeah, I'm thinking of a drill bit in a drill press, with some bend in it. They snap ! But you gotta admit it's different.
