Re: Question on motomaster battery chatger fro all 12v battery

if your battery is new and you just brought it home then normally this will be a no as new batteries have a full charge on them. for your info the charger you have is not a multistage charger and can overcharge a battery as voltages can far exceed manufacturer's voltage limits even with the low 2a setting. that type of charger is designed to give the majority of a bulk charge usually in order to start a car from a car battery and does not disconnect itself or cut back on the current when max charge voltages are reached. the remainder of the charge must be given to the battery through a regulated voltage source and is usually somewhere around 14.4v to 14.6v and varies depending on battery type and manufacturer.

Why don't you give us a link to the online manual for your charger ?

It's hard to troubleshoot without some data.

here's the link mike. not sure if it's the 15a model or the smaller 6a model, but it really doesn't matter.

as to it not charging there are some possibilities here.
1> you didn't connect the leads to the battery.
2> you didn't plug it into the proper ac or failed to plug it in at all.
3> those leads or connectors may be broken.
4> possible break on the ac cord or blown fuse (household fuse most likely as i don't believe one to be on the charger.
    5> it's broken.
