removing glass from solar panel 1

Options
The glass on my solar panel broke apart in 1000 pieces. They all remained in place, maybe due to glue, rubber, plastic or what else...
The 1000 little shadows reduced panel output to 60 wp!! :-(
I need a method (thinner? Hot air?) To remove the pieces of glass!!
Any idea?

it can't be done without destroying the panel.

    Look familiar?

I had one damaged in shipment. Fortunately, the seller quickly replaced it at no cost.

Solar panels are laminated. The glass, panel matrix, and backing are sandwiched together and heated. There's an adhesive between the layers that's melted in the process, sealing it from the weather.

If you have nothing to lose at this point (not a new panel covered by shipper), I'd put it on a plywood sheet to support the back. Might have to cut it to fit inside the frame. Then take a heat gun and warm up a small section. You "might" be able to soften the adhesive, and remove the glass, a little at a time. You "might" also be able to remove any remaining adhesive with a solvent (Goo Gone). I'd certainly give it a try before throwing it away.
