hello all

i have a chines power inverter 24V and i connected a amp meter with shunt before the inverter input.
after connecting everything, the amp meter shows me nothing, when turning on the power inverter i get a reading of 0.2A 0.3A, when i turn on lights that are connected to the inverter i get 1.4A

is that correct? is the power inverter is on standby mode ?

thanks

Sounds pretty normal. It's hard to find an inverter with much lower idle consumption. Strange thing is, I have a couple of roughly 15 year old Statpower MSW inverters, 250 watt and no fan, and they only draw 0.02 amps in idle. If it could be done way back then, why not now? Doesn't make sense to me.

Is the 1.4a the total inverter current draw or the total minus the current draw
of the lights? If it is the former then that is normal and acts the same as my
    msw 1000 inverter.

If it could be done way back then, why not now? Doesn't make sense to me.

Another good example would be the Trace DR series. They had a low idle draw.
Maybe they figure that PV being cheaper will have folks take their eye off the ball.
But if you're someone who's running a homestead off less than 2kw of panels
you're eye has to be on the ball all of the time, and every little load is considered.

So an inverter draw switching from .2a to 1.4a.That sure looks like a stand by
    mode working doesn't it,interesting.

Could you please tell me the name and model of this inverter,or give me a
link so I can take a gander?
